Price is great. Used it for a bathroom wall mount application. Easy to work with. Picture quality a little disappointing but price/value relationship well within expectations. Would buy another if I had an application need.
I bought this TV for my kitchen in preparation for the digital cutover. I'm using it with an antenna (not connected to cable). The picture is fine for what I use the TV for (watching the news while getting ready for work).
This is my first digital TV so I don't have a lot to compare it to, but I'd recommend it for a kitchen or bedroom, especially for the price.
This is a really nice little TV for the money. I needed something small for my home office and this worked out well. Good picture quality and sound. Easy operation and adjustments. The only downside is the extremely narrow viewing band. If you are not perfectly centered in front of the set, the picture quality get very poor. Just be sure you use it where you can easily adjust the set position and you will be fine.
Bought this TV for my Wife and wall mounted it in kitchen. It is a great little TV. We where worried when we saw it was the glossy type screen, thinking it may have glare, but when the unit is on I don't notice any glare or reflections.
When we got this unit we found that the coax cable input was loose and did not accept a signal so we had to return for repair
I bought this TV to install in my conversion van. It works great for the application and was the right price. I'm very pleased with the TV, the viewing angle from right to left is pretty good. The veiwing angle from top to bottom could be a little better, but I installed the TV on a bracket to be able to tip the tv angle down a bit and that problem was solved. The volume on the tv doesn't get that loud, but it works. Overall I would say if you're looking for a cheap small tv, this one works good.
I bought this for background interest while I'm dyeing or carding in my fiber studio. I agree that it's limited in the viewing angle & the sound is pretty low and tinny, but for a $135, it's just right for my use. So far, I haven't used it for HD, just DVDS & my Roku player. If you're viewing head-on, the picture is crisp and beautifully saturated, and the sound is fine (I'd call it about medium cranked all the way up) if you don't need it too loud. If you're in a loud or white noise heavy environment (e.g., lots of fans), it might be too quiet. For an extra TV that you just want for background viewing in the kitchen, studio or office (I discovered years ago that shifting your focus from your monitor to a TV screen a few feet away will prevent/reverse eye strain), it's just right & the price is dandy.
I will return this one back tomorrow, and swallow the shipping cost. The main complaint, other than the poor picture quality (I expected that with this brand and cost), is that if you live in a rural area, and if you can only rely on antenna, you are doomed with this machine.
As people use antenna may know, each channel has it's own antenna angles. That is, you switch the channel and adjust the antenna. With this TV, it only accepts pre-scanned channels. That is, it scans the whole spectrum with one antenna orientation, save the channels and done. Yes, it is convenient. But after that, you cannot do anything to it. You cannot "enter" a channel (such as 7.1) when the channel number is not previously saved. You cannot try to adjust the antenna to tune in a channel that is not previously saved first. HOW STUPID IS THAT?
But if you have cable service and want to take this one, yes, you can. But for anyone in our situation, please, try something else. Our Sony is much better to allow us enter any channel number we want and it tries to tune in. Even the digital TV converter works better than this Coby TV.
came faster than i expected. i like it. dissapointed that it does not have an inbuilt antenna though
I like my new TV. Perfect for my kitchen. The color is fine, the sound is fine. The only problem (if you can call this a problem) is that the remote control is very sluggish. The TV has a very slow response to the remote.
